Self Care for Women

Women, Ladies, Queens, Goddesses.

To fully embrace our feminine side and become that Woman we want to be, we have to start working on our stuff first.

What is self-care?

Self-care is not pleasing your partner, kids, boss, teachers, mother, colleagues, friends, neighbors, etc.

It’s about gratifying YOURSELF. You’re the flower, energy, and inspiration.

Identify your own needs and take action to meet them. Nourish yourself as kindly as you treat others, with love and compassion. Once you truly fall in love with yourself, self-care will come instinctively.

We give priority to everything else as we’re the last on the list. We tend to forget that apart from lovers, moms, professionals, friends, daughters, we are women. We try to be perfect in each of our roles. Give up perfectionism.

The sentence “no one owns me anything” is absolutely liberating once you recognize its total power.

Do whatever makes you feel good. Make time for it. Reserve one hour or at least half an hour per day in your calendar, with 100% importance and cannot be canceled. No excuses. If you don’t book time now, you won’t find it in the future.
You need to create boundaries. You know how tiny your schedule is, and how much time you need to charge your batteries.

What drives me crazy is that self-care has become one of the marketing tools selling us “the best deal” for expensive packages to feel beautiful, wanted, presenting some unrealistic icon of “beauty”, and pushing the idea that we’re not good enough. Unrealistically comparing ourselves to actresses, models, other women causes a lot of harm. It decreases our mood, happiness, and image about ourselves. All genders experience body shaming. Less social media, more self-esteem.

It’s time to embrace our bodies and reconnect with them in a new and empowering way. You’re gorgeous.

The secret is …

This can work only if you genuinely understand and accept that You’re worthy. You know your value.

This is not easy, my confidence still trembles when I create a post and awaits people’s reactions. Our society doesn’t help us feel beautiful, grow in our true essence and let us be who we are.

You need to tell yourself:

I’m amazing. I know that I need time for myself, otherwise I’m dry, can’t give any love to my surroundings or stay creative. I take full responsibility for my actions and stop sabotaging my dream life with the feeling that I don’t deserve it. I give up playing small. On the contrary, I’m thankful as I can transform all those gifts to people in a positive way. I inspire, challenge, motivate, tempt, encourage, take care, love, trust my intuition, give freedom and spread joy.

My Queens, let’s do it! With an open heart and full consciousness.

You need to say it LOUD because we have a tendency to be dragged back by negative affirmations, mispredict our own potential or misremember how alluring and unique we are.
Then you can realize how much energy you have, how incredibly powerful you are, how radiant and sparkling you can be, and how huge impact you have on people around you. Be honest with yourself so you become who you are and can walk a path as an authentic Queen.

Why do self-care?

It makes you beautiful, more alive, energized and happier. You learn how to trust yourself. You feel healthier from a physical and mental standpoint. You become a woman you want to be, the one who is adored because she truly loves and enjoys herself.

How to find a perfect self-care just for you?

Take a moment to answer these questions:

What makes you feel happy and joyful?
What makes you feel beautiful?
What evokes your artistic side?
What makes you feel grounded?
What makes you feel relaxed?
What makes you feel authentic or alive?
What makes you feel connected to your body?
What were the things you were interested in as a child?
What do you want to integrate to your day/life?
What makes you feel more connected to God, Spirit, Universe or Nature?

If you have clear answers, go ahead and start building your own daily practice or “joy moments”. Spend one hour (or half) per day doing simply what you love to do, what makes you happy or what your body, heart, and mind need.

If you’re ready to take it seriously and have troubles with discipline, follow the action plan. If you look for inspiration, check my personal rituals or specific techniques on how to become a happy fulfilled woman. You have everything you need. We simply have to embrace it, open our heart and fulfill everything around us (you included) with love.

RememberThe best practice is one you actually do. Don’t be too harsh on yourself. It’s better to nourish yourself 10 minutes every day than do nothing the whole week and trying to catch up during the weekend.

TAPAS

We tend to postpone self-care for an evening, upcoming weekend or next holidays. Stay present with yourself all day long by small steps taken.
Inspired from Basque cuisine, Tapas are small portions of food which can be savored whole one at the time. You can introduce the same concept with baby steps, activities or actions to your daily life to stay sensual and connected with your wonderful Goddess inside you.

Tapas Inspirations:

  • Wear clothes you like
  • Bring your preferred tea with you
  • Dance like nobody is watching for one song (even in the toilet with headsets on)
  • Apply hand cream
  • Put a plant or flowers at your working desk
  • Stand, stretch and move your hips
  • Smile at your colleagues or people you meet during the day
  • Be kind, give spontaneously your money or dedicate your time for a good thing
  • Listen to songs you cherish while replying to emails
  • Take a quick walk
  • Take off your shoes while working
  • Scent delightful candles
  • Treat yourself with juicy fruit or dark chocolate and share it with someone
  • Call your great friend
  • Take a hot bath
  • Tantalize yourself.

We are energized by beauty, love, and sensuality. Expand your sense of joy into your everyday life. Play and enjoy.
